About Shape Up Hanover
Shape Up Hanover is the answer to every failed weight loss “contest” around. We’ve been there, done that. What we’ve learned is that weight loss cannot be successfully maintained after a 6-to-12 week weight loss contest that starts in January. Sure, you might lose a few pounds. You might drop a few sizes. But, inevitably, it will all come back (often times bringing a few extra pounds with it). That muscle tone you started to see will be gone by summer, you’ll need to get those “fat jeans” back out of storage, and you’ll be right back where you started. Sound familiar?
What we’ve done is developed a program that helps you to get your foot in the door and keep it there. We provide workouts (instructed by Sheron Smith, who has successfully lost 160 lbs naturally and kept every pound off), nutritional support (no fad diets, just facts and figures to help you understand what food does once you put it in your mouth), and motivational support (in the form of weekly meetings). Along the way we’ll provide prizes, incentives, and lots of great ways to “ramp up” your efforts, at your own pace.
PLEASE NOTE. This is not a contest. As far as we’re concerned, you win when you lose weight. Even if it’s a half a pound a week. Our goal is not to transform you into lean, mean, fat burning machines in the next 30 days. Our goal is to help provide you with the tools necessary to meet your goals, improve your health, and to experience what living a “healthy lifestyle” feels like. It might take 6 months. It might take 2 years. But what sets us apart from the “contest” setting is simple.. if you need us in 2 years, we’ll still be around. Contests are over and done with in 6-12 weeks.

About US (the short version)
Coach Sheron Smith, the developer and trainer in the Shape Up Hanover program, has been actively exercising for almost 4 years now. She started in August of 2007 on a warpath to change her life, and she hasn’t stopped yet. Starting at well over 300 pounds, Sherons health was in rapid decline. She started her weight loss journey by walking and eating fewer sugars (soda, candy, etc). From there she began to take fitness classes, which eventually lead her to Dan’s Boot Camp classes (info on Dan below). 3 years and nearly 150 pounds later, Sheron is a true inspiration to all those who she comes in contact with. She’s become a Level 1 CrossFit Instructor and works with clients interested in losing substantial amounts of weight at Next Level Fitness – CrossFit Hanover. She gets a kick out of being able to “give back” to the people she’s able to so easily relate to. Her clients are so grateful for having a trainer that understands the obstacles that they face on a day to day basis. Her reward is in knowing that she’s been able to change a life for the better.

Dan Sell, Owner/Trainer at Next Level Fitness – CrossFit Hanover, hasn’t always been interested in fitness. At an early age, Dan was very inactive and found comfort in food. Reaching 294 pounds at age 14, he decided to make a change.. and the rest, as they say, is history. He began to participate in Track & Field at his high school, which lead to him doing track in college. He graduated from Radford University with a BS in Exercise Science in 2005 and has made it his mission to help people improve their health ever since. Opening Next Level Fitness – CrossFit Hanover in January 0f 2009, Dan started offering boot camp and CrossFit classes to help his clients achieve all of their fitness goals. Sheron has been, without a doubt, Dan’s most successful client to date. Her transformation physically and mentally continues to bring Dan fulfillment each and every day.
